We understand our customers can be busy in the daytime so we offer a 24-hour online booking for MOTs. When we send you your MOT reminder, you can book in on your phone in just a few seconds. We will text you a confirmation, to let you know we have your booking in our diary.

About Us

R Beresford Auto Repairs was founded by Roger and his wife Ellie in 1979. Together they built up the business in Units 20 and 21 for over 43 years generating thousands of loyal customers who came to Beresford’s for good personal service and fair prices. In 2022 Roger and Ellie decided it was time to retire and spend time with their new grandchild.

The new owner is Allan Brownridge who brings 35 years of helping the smallest and largest dealers for Massey-Ferguson, Case, New Holland and John Deere with the last 13 years helping Harley-Davidson Motorcycle dealers al over the globe. Many also had car franchises including the worlds largest cars groups such as Pendragon PLC, Jardines, Inchcape etc. He has seen loads of excellent practices and businesses and has also seen bad ones too! Could sing the praises of Beresford forever but don’t have enough characters! I was stranded hundreds of miles from home when visiting my boyfriend in Fareham and Allan and Nash squeezed me in with no questions asked and even cleared the schedule a few days ahead to ensure they could finish the job before I left. Sometimes I find it difficult to be taken seriously by garages, especially when I’m on my own and with my lack of mechanical knowledge but Allan and Nash went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and understood, from little things like inviting me to sit down and get to know me, having me drive the car to show Nash when the problem arose, checking my brakes and tyres before my long drive unasked, and then the big one – actually taking photos of the work that they were doing AS they did it so that I could see and understand! I’ve honestly never had such a good experience with a garage and will genuinely drive back all those hundred miles for my MOT when the time comes.
