A nice little video showing the difference between a worn dual-mass flywheel and a new one. Notice how easily the used one moves compared to the new one. In fact, the used one was so badly worn that the customer could barely pull away because there was so much slip in the dual mass flywheel. Symptoms to look out for are rattling noises when starting your engine from cold, the clutch appearing to slip and juddering when pulling away.
Looking for MOT testing?
You can book your MOT online 24/7. You will also receive a free text reminder when it’s due again for the following year.
Over time with wear and tear your vehicle will need motor parts routinely replaced, such as brakes, battery and clutch. We have the facilities to diagnose any motoring issues you are experiencing and get you back on the road as soon as possible.
Springs are a critical component of your suspension. Today a car arrived making some horrible sounds, as you can see from the pictures one of the front springs had snapped. We replaced both front springs and now the customer is safely back on the road.
Will you fit the parts that I buy?
Generally, no. The reason for this is fourfold…..
1. Counterfeit parts are readily available as bad people have realised that they can make brake pads out of cardboard, spray them up, make a dummy branded box and sell them on eBay or Amazon. They may be cheap, but there is a reason for that!
2. As professionals, if we fit your parts, we become liable for anything bad that happens afterwards. So if those cardboard brake pads mean that you can’t stop and crash into a Bus queue and kill them all, we would be liable as we fitted the parts and the Courts would say that we “should know better” as it’s our job.
3. We stand behind our work and all the parts we put on your vehicle come with a warranty. If its not right, we will fix it
4. The parts we use all fit, we don’t have to struggle to adapt them to fit- saving you money in your labour costs
Are the parts that you fit made by Skoda/Vauxhall/ Jaguar/ VW etc?
No. Car manufacturers largely design and assemble vehicles. They don’t produce many parts themselves. You can see this by looking at the tyres on your car- they are made by Michelin, Goodyear, Pirelli, Bridgestone etc…not Skoda/Vauxhall etc
Another example is that no car manufacturer produces their own brakes- they go to specialist brake companies such as Brembo, ATE, Girling, Delco
A final example is that the spark plugs on your car are made by Bosch, NGK, Champion or some other specialist spark plug company.
We buy the same parts that the manufacturer does except its not in the Skoda/Vauxhall/jaguar etc box… but then its at least 20% cheaper and you throw the box away anyhow!
