R Beresford Auto Repairs was founded by Roger and his wife Ellie in 1979. Together they built up the business in Units 20 and 21 for over 43 years generating thousands of loyal customers who came to Beresford’s for good personal service and fair prices. In 2022 Roger and Ellie decided it was time to retire and spend time with their new grandchild.

The new owners bring decades of experience in the motor industry from MOT testing, Repairs to full historic award winning vehicle restorations with a wide experience range within all roles of the industry. As a Garage we are constantly looking to the future of motoring and how we can help keep your wheels turning, so we are always upskilling our technicians and that includes recent Electric and hybrid vehicle qualifications

We are proud members of the Independent Garage Association (IGA) who keep us trained and informed on best practices and the latest services to offer our customers. We are assessed and approved by them and are proud to be one of their “Trust my Garage scheme” garages.

Also, at the start of 2023 we expanded to take over Unit 22 to provide customers with a comfortable reception to wait in with complimentary tea/coffee/mineral water and sodas (with ice creams during the summer) that’s away from the fumes and noise of an active garage.

Supporting them, and being taught by Nash, are four young people who want to work in the Motor Industry. Studying at Farehams’ excellent College, we are proud to give these four youngsters a start on their career when many in the Motor Trade think that they don’t want to invest their time. We enjoy teaching these intelligent, enthusiastic youngsters on a wide range of vehicles and servicing/repair jobs.

We think that supporting the next generation is a duty that we must do and we are proud to do so.

We are proud to introduce our first Apprentice Jake Manfield who is with us for the next three years whilst also studying at CEMAST.

Our longest serving Mechanic is also called Jake. He joined us in 2022. He also studied at CEMAST, completed his Level 3 and is now learning more about Motorsport at University.

Both Jakes and the other mechanics of the future who work for us are a credit to their parents and generation. Like most youngsters they are familiar with all the latest technology in your cars as they grew up with Onboard Computers and digital diagnosis. To help them have a broad knowledge, I have bought a 1986 Porsche 944 which is in a bad way for them to work on in their spare time. The cars of this era had no on board diagnosis (OBD) and were lucky to have ABS! We are lucky to have their skill, enthusiasm and knowledge.

Our MOT tests are mainly carried out by long-established tester Matt who keeps up to date with all the latest Government regulations and makes sure your vehicles meet these standards.

We have invested thousands in the latest diagnostic equipment to save you time and worry when one of those warning lights comes on, or something is not right with your car.
