Alongside MOT testing and servicing, we also carry out a manner of general car repairs and air conditioning work.
“It’s not hot enough for me to put the air con on”. A lot of drivers think that air conditioning is only to cool the vehicle, so if the temperature inside the vehicle is OK, I don’t need to switch the air conditioning on…… Wrong…. Air conditioning conditions the air in the cabin and takes moisture from your breath out of the cabin helping reduce your windows from steaming up and removing nasty things you don’t want to breathe in. If you turn your temperature control down it will cool the car, but simply turn the temperature control up to find a temperature that keeps you warm and at a comfortable level.
Looking for MOT testing?
You can book your MOT online 24/7. You will also receive a free text reminder when it’s due again for the following year.
Choose Beresford Auto Service Centre for all your motoring needs.
“My vehicle has aircon but I rarely use it and now it doesn’t work”. Please …please all do this! This guarantees that we will never be out of business! The Gas used in Air Conditioning systems contains a lubricant that keeps all the rubber seals in your car’s air conditioning system supple, moist and flexible. Think of it like the moisturiser you use on your skin. These seals keep the gas from escaping. If you don’t use your air conditioning, the seals won’t be lubricated, go hard and brittle and the gas will escape (not good for the Environment). Next step, call us at 01329 28 98 42 and we will regass your vehicle
My car has Climate Control…is this Air Conditioning? Yes, well done, you have the super-dooper version of air conditioning which is a “Set and Forget” easy use system. First push the button marked “AUTO”. Second… dial the temperature to 19c or 20c. If this is a comfortable temperature for you, leave it at that and there’s no need to ever touch it again. The system is clever enough to pull the maximum heat or cooling into the cabin to get the temperature to the level that you have set in the shortest possible time. Twiddling with the temperature knob to get the temperature to where you want it to be wont make any difference. If it’s cold and you want warming up, the car can only generate heat as fast as it can and no amount of knob twiddling will make a difference!! Thats why its a set and forget system… you have other things to think about!
